Sixty-four years of building things that move liquid
Founded by Erik Halvorsen in 1962 to repair pumps for Milwaukee breweries. Still family-owned, still in the same part of town, now shipping to 31 countries.
What we make, and what we don't
We design and build pumps, valves, strainers and the controls that run them. We do not make compressors, blowers or the pipe between them.
Narrow range, deep inventory: that is the trade we chose, and it is why a plant can call us about a pump we sold in 1989 and get a part.

From a repair bench to 31 countries
The short version of sixty-four years on West Canal Street.
- 1962
A repair shop for the breweries
Erik Halvorsen opens a two-man pump repair shop serving Milwaukee's breweries.
- 1968
The first Halvorsen pump
The HC end-suction pump ships, designed around the failures the shop kept repairing. It is still in the catalog.
- 1979
Valves and strainers join the range
Customers ask for the parts on either side of the pump. Ball valves and Y-strainers follow, sharing materials and spares.
- 1994
Second generation, first exports
Karin Halvorsen takes over from her father. The first orders ship to Canada and Mexico.
- 2008
Houston service centre
A second site opens to serve Gulf Coast chemical and midstream customers with 48-hour response.
- 2019
Third generation, controls in-house
Anders Halvorsen becomes president. A UL 508A panel shop is added so pump packages leave as one tested unit.
- 2026
Test capacity doubles
A 14,000 sq ft addition brings a 10,000 gpm loop and witnessed-test bays for customer acceptance.
Made here
Castings come from foundries in Wisconsin and Indiana. Machining, assembly, hydrostatic and performance testing happen under one roof on West Canal Street.
Every pump leaves with a test certificate signed by the technician who ran it.

Certifications
Copies of every certificate are available to customers on request.
- ISO 9001:2015
Quality management
Design, manufacture and test, recertified in 2026 with zero findings.
- ASME VIII UV
Pressure relief
UV stamp for safety relief valves.
- 3-A / EHEDG
Sanitary design
Sanitary pumps and valves for food and pharmaceutical duty.
- UL 508A
Control panels
Industrial control panels built in-house.
